The Viewer software assists in visualising weapons storage layout
in an armoury. There are many issues to consider when designing
equipment or armoury storage for guns and other firearms related equipment.
The main areas are:
• Space available - is there physically enough storage
volume for the number of rifles, handguns, shotguns etc. to be
stored
• Efficiency of storage - are the firearms laid out in
the most efficient way – either for density of storage or
ease of access during rapid deployment of weapons, depending on
which is most appropriate
• Circulation of personnel – this needs particular
attention in an armoury environment where military or police personnel
may be clad in protective bulky clothing such as vests, flak jackets,
or fitted with belts carrying accessories (e.g. night sticks,
truncheons or radios etc.)
FWS 3D CAD drawings enable the armoury designer to manipulate
the image and see the space from any angle required – therefore
ensuring that the weapons and equipment will be stored to permit
the best balance between firearms and equipment storage density
- and on the other hand - ease of access appropriate to the armoury
concerned.
